Hello, I am Mia

Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Berlin, Germany.

A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually unfolded into a new chapter of life abroad.

How It Started

Moving to Germany wasn’t in our long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it began as a job chance and soon grew into something far larger.

The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday chores seemed more complex than they ought to be.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the fly. But gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.

Why I Built GlobalFamily Living

Most online information was either corporate relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.

This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Germany.

What This Website Represents (And Does Not)

This site REPRESENTS:

  • Hands-on experience from living in Germany
  • Centered on family life and everyday realities
  • Updated whenever there is a meaningful change

This site IS NOT:

  • Not a tourism authority resource
  • Paid-review platform
  • Just a generic travel blog

Moving Forward

Our time in Germany continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep sharing what we discover.

If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,

Mia
